A Orixe. The Way of Saint James from Barbanza
Immerse yourself in the heart of the Way of Saint James through 'A Orixe', a path with deep roots in the legend of the Apostle Santiago. The Association Friends of the Way of Saint James of Barbanza and Sar has rescued this historical itinerary that leads pilgrims to explore a sacred journey, following the footsteps of the arrival of Saint James to Galicia.
The Association's laborious research has given life to the Route of Origin, a 135 km experience that begins in the lighthouse of Corrubedo and runs through the municipalities of Ribeira, A Pobra, Boiro, Rianxo, Dodro and Padrón, and reaches Iria Flavia where it connects with the Portuguese Way to finish in the Praza do Obradoiro. Along this route, pilgrims will witness historical, artistic and cultural heritage gems that tell the rich history of the region and its deep link with the Way of Saint James.
