Essential equipment

01

Comfortable and appropriate footwear

Invest in a sturdy, well-fitting pair of hiking shoes. Make sure you have used and adapted them before starting the Camino to avoid blisters and discomfort.

02

Appropiate clothes

Wear light, breathable clothing for walking. Opt for layers to adapt to changes in temperature throughout the day. A hat or cap and sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun are essential.

03

Suitable backpack

Choose a comfortable and appropriately sized backpack. Do not carry a backpack that is too large to avoid carrying unnecessary weight.

04

Sleeping bag and pillowcase

A light, compact sleeping bag is essential for nights in hostels or other overnight resting places. A pillowcase will give you extra comfort.

05

Personal hygiene items

It is important that you prepare a basic kit that includes biodegradable soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, small towels and toilet paper.

06

First aid kit

Prepare a first aid kit with basic supplies such as bandages, disinfectant, pain relievers, scissors, and dressings. Consider any personal medications you may need.

07

Sunscreen and insect repellent

Protect your skin from the sun with a broad-spectrum sunscreen and use insect repellent to avoid annoying bites.

08

Headlamp and extra batteries

A headlamp will be very useful when night falls or visibility is limited. Also remember to bring spare batteries.

09

Water and reusable bottle

Carry enough water for the stages, but don't carry too much unnecessary weight. Bring a reusable bottle to refill at fountains along the way.

10

Energy food and snacks

Take snacks such as nuts, energy bars and dried fruits to keep your energy up during the walks.

11

Electronics devices

Bring your phone, camera or other electronic devices if you wish, but also remember the necessary chargers and adapters.

12

Padlock and security elements

A padlock will be useful to secure your belongings in the hostels. Also consider a secure bag to carry documents and money.

13

Maps and guides

Make sure you bring detailed maps of each stage and Camino guides to be well informed about the route and places of interest.

14

Pilgrim credential

Obtain your pilgrim credential, where you will stamp the stamps of the different stages, necessary to obtain the "Compostela", which certifies the completion of the path.
