Hakuna pilgrims seeking to become a family on the A Orixe Way

More than 80 young members of the Hakuna association of the faithful are walking the Way of St. James through the Barbanza region, starting from the Corrubedo Lighthouse, with the aim of experiencing faith and fellowship. Coming from different parts of Spain and, in many cases, meeting for the first time, they highlight the strong bonds formed from the very first stages of the pilgrimage, as well as the beauty of the surrounding landscape.

The pilgrimage is supported by the Asociación Amigos do Camiño de Santiago do Barbanza e Sar A Orixe, which has organized the route, accommodation, and coordination with local parishes. The young pilgrims themselves are responsible for cooking, organizing activities, and keeping the facilities in order. After each stage, they take part in prayers, religious songs, and leisure activities, accompanied by a priest.

The pilgrims hope to arrive in Santiago having built lasting friendships and to offer their efforts at the tomb of the Apostle. For them, the experience does not end at the destination but is intended to leave a lasting mark on their lives.
