2026-05-14 14:58:22The Exhibition Hall of the Hospedería Monasterio San Martín Pinario, in Santiago de Compostela, will host this Thursday 14 the opening of the travelling exhibition “CVLTO E CVLTVRA XACOBEA NO BARBANZA E SAR”, an informative exhibition focused on the historical and artistic heritage linked to the Jacobean phenomenon in the territories of Barbanza and Sar.
The exhibition, promoted by the Asociación Camiño de Santiago A Orixe, aims to offer a summary of the heritage testimonies linked to the pilgrimage route on which the organisation has been working since 2017 for its recovery and enhancement. The initiative seeks to highlight the cultural, historical and symbolic relevance of this Jacobean route, claiming its role within the Compostelan pilgrimage tradition.
The content of the exhibition is curated by Antonio González Millán, while the photographic report is by Adolfo Enríquez Calo. Through images, panels and documentation, visitors will be able to discover different heritage and cultural elements related to the Camino de Santiago in these Galician regions.
According to the organisers, the exhibition was also created with the aim of promoting a rigorous recovery and responsible dissemination of the heritage linked to the Camino, considered by the Council of Europe as the First European Cultural Route since 23 October 1987.
The event will take place this Thursday 14 in the Exhibition Hall of the Hospedería Monasterio San Martín Pinario, located at Praza da Inmaculada 3 in Santiago de Compostela. The exhibition can be visited during the months of May and October 2026.
